Alberta Education is committed to improving education outcomes for First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) students and to closing the gap in education achievement between FNMI and other provincial students. We work with FNMI leaders and communities to engage FNMI parents and families to support student success through collaborative partnerships with schools and by developing culturally relevant programs, resources and student supports. The FNMI Coordinator has the primary responsibility of developing satisfactory communication and support links between parents, students, teachers of the school and outside agencies. The individual becomes a positive role model for native students, provides counseling and monitors their attendance and academic progress. The coordinator also academically assists students in the classroom in all aspects of the school program. The program promotes awareness and an appreciation of native culture, heritage and language through school activities and presentations.
Our FNMI Coordinator is Miss Tally Robinson.
